Orchid lovers delight! The U.S. Postal Service issued its new Wild Orchids Forever Stamps on February 21, 2020. Photographed by Jim Fowler and designed by Ethel Kessler, the stamps celebrate orchid species that grow wild across the United States, from the California lady’s slipper to the marsh lady’s tresses found as far north as Delaware.
While orchids are a favorite houseplant, tens of thousands of species grow wild around the globe. More than 100 of those are native to North America’s damp woodland areas, and by showcasing nine of those species on Forever Stamps, the USPS helps raise awareness of our local flora. Do you know the variety that is featured twice? (The Three birds orchid is featured in two different stamps)
Use these beautiful Unused postage stamps for mailing Wedding Invitations, Save the Date, Bridal Showers and Birthday Cards. They are valid to use as postage at the current 60c First Class rate for a one ounce envelope.
Also good to use for scrapbooking or displaying in a small picture frame. It's a miniature work of art.
If you would like me to put a custom order together that includes this stamp please convo me with your questions or request a custom order. I have a large inventory of Vintage US Postage stamp for you to buy from.
