This stamp is from the Classic Collection Series, which showcased the art of twenty American illustrators of magazines, posters, books, and advertisements. Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) charmed the country for decades with his idealized depictions of American life in magazines, calendars, and advertisements. He painted more than 300 covers for The Saturday Evening Post and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977.
