Great for special mailings like weddings, birthdays, valentines, and events. Also good to use for scrapbooking or displaying in a small picture frame. It's a miniature work of art.

About this stamp:
In 1911, Illinois State Regent of the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Ella Park Lawrence discovered that her state was without a flag. Lawrence immediately began lobbying for the adoption of a flag. By 1914, a statewide contest was held to select a design. The new flag was designed by Miss Lucy Derwent of Rockford and featured the image of the state’s 1868 Great Seal on a white background. The flag was officially adopted on July 16, 1915. In 1970, the flag was redesigned to include the state name. The flag features a bald eagle, representative of the United States, carrying a shield with 13 bars and stars to symbolize the 13 original colonies.
